We are building the 1st Brain-Computer Interface to address Severe Tinnitus

A Major Unmet Medical Need

Tinnitus is a debilitating condition affecting millions worldwide, severely impacting their quality of life. For those with severe tinnitus, the constant ringing in the ears is not just an annoyance; it's a significant health burden with no effective cure available today.

Despite the vast number of people suffering from tinnitus, there is currently no effective treatment for those with severe symptoms.

This represents a substantial unmet need in the medical community and a significant opportunity for innovation in the MedTech space. This significant challenge calls for a groundbreaking solution that pushes the boundaries of current technology and approaches.

14%

of the global population suffers from tinnitus.

2.7B

annual cost of tinnitus for U.S. veterans.

120 million

people worldwide experience severe tinnitus, a condition that can lead to social isolation, depression, and anxiety.

8.4 million

million individuals globally have attempted suicide due to the psychological stress caused by severe tinnitus.

Our Innovation

We are pioneering the development of SOFT TINNIT™, the world’s first Brain-Computer Interface designed specifically to address severe tinnitus. Our fully implantable, minimally invasive system provides a closed-loop neurofeedback mechanism, directly targeting key brain regions involved in tinnitus to act on underlying mechanisms and reduce tinnitus perception.

SOFT TINNIT™ utilizes advanced neuromodulation to normalize altered connectivities between these key brain regions, addressing the core dysfunctions that contribute to tinnitus.

It tackles a plausible root cause of tinnitus, providing a solution where current treatments fall short. This innovative system is designed to set new standards, combining precision and patient-focused solutions, all validated through rigorous scientific research.

Scientific Evidence

SOFT TINNIT™ is based on proven scientific research. In our last clinical study, we demonstrated the effectiveness of our neurofeedback approach, where patients were able to modulate their own brain activity to reduce tinnitus symptoms.

In a comparative study, patients undergoing fMRI neurofeedback had a 130% better outcome compared to those receiving cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), the current gold standard for tinnitus treatment.

Our approach achieved a significant reduction in Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) scores, far surpassing the 7-point threshold for minimal clinically important difference.

This research strengthens our confidence in the potential of this approach but underscores the need to enhance signal quality and acquisition.

Competitive Advantages

SOFT TINNIT™ addresses these critical needs. Our soft electrode is thinner, more flexible, and smaller than existing technologies, allowing it to directly access specific brain regions and provide a superior signal quality to alternative non-invasive approaches.

The innovative design ensures safe, long-term implantation, leveraging advanced material science for a cutting-edge approach to neurofeedback and neuromodulation. Our soft electrode is thinner, more flexible, and smaller than existing technologies.

No more loud, hospital-bound fMRI sessions. Once implanted, our connected system is ready for immediate use, enabling patients to engage in neurofeedback training sessions from home.

We empower patients with greater autonomy, while healthcare professionals can remotely monitor and adjust therapy for personalized, adaptive care.

We Solved the Major Bottleneck

Tinnitus treatment has been limited by the inability to precisely target the involved brain regions, combined with solutions that lack long-term viability and patient convenience. SOFT TINNIT™ overcomes these challenges with a pioneering approach that blends advanced neuromodulation with seamless integration into patients’ lives. By ensuring precise modulation and high signal quality, our system offers a reliable, long-term solution that currently available treatments cannot match.

Through its connected and adaptive nature, SOFT TINNIT™ empowers patients to manage their therapy around their lives, rather than adapting their lives to fit the demands of a clinical environment.

This innovation doesn’t just fill a gap; it redefines the approach to tinnitus care. By combining state-of-the-art technology, patient-centric design, and evidence from previous research, SOFT TINNIT™ paves the way for a future where effective, accessible, and sustainable treatment becomes the new standard.
