Neurosoft Bioelectronics adds experts in Neuromodulation & Tinnitus to its Advisory Board

Geneva, Switzerland, 9 December 2021 – Neurosoft Bioelectronics SA, a startup developing the first fully-implantable Brain-Computer Interface(BCI)to treat severe tinnitus, announced two new members to its Advisory Board. Prof. Dirk de Ridder and Dr. Christian Hauptmann, two experts in neuromodulation and tinnitus, join the advisory board to shape and guide the technical and clinical development of a fully-implantable BCI to treat severe tinnitus through cortical neuromodulation.

Welcome to Chloé Fattebert – our new Quality Assurance Manager

Chloé holds a BSc in Microengineering from the HES-SO, and has gained significant experience over the past 8 years working in the Medical Device Industry. As a QA/RA consultant, she specialized in audits, regulatory strategy, manufacturing processes, product quality management, and QMS implementation for novel medical devices, including active implantables. She later worked as QA/RA Director in the endodontic field, leading the team in charge of MDR transition, quality & regulatory strategy, product portfolio optimization, device worldwide registration, and Technical Documentation. Neurosoft Bioelectronics Receives Nearly $3 Million in Funding

Neurosoft Bioelectronics was awarded nearly $3 million, from the SERI-Funded European Innovation Council Accelerator Grant and a share of the $165,000 through the European Research Council Proof-of-Concept Grant. Additionally, the firm secured a $100,000 convertible note from the Fongit Innovation Fund. Proceeds will fund clinical study and regulatory approval for epilepsy and advance development for tinnitus application.

Welcome to Nicolas Gninenko – our new Clinical Neuroscientist

Nicolas holds a MSc in Bioengineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from EPFL. During his PhD, Nicolas led the fMRI arm of the NeuroTin clinical trial on chronic tinnitus supported by the Wyss Center. His work focused on the non-invasive modulation of chronic tinnitus through extensive real-time fMRI neurofeedback, allowing to pinpoint novel maladaptive functional interactions in the human brain. Through his expertise with patients, Nicolas will help to foster new efforts towards new treatments for this debilitating condition. Welcome to the team, Nicolas!

Anna is a Life Sciences Engineer with MSc degrees from EPFL and Ecole Centrale de Nantes. As a Bertarelli Fellow, she performed her Master thesis at Harvard Medical School where she worked on real-time control systems of exoskeletons to study motor control. Anna also has experience in deep learning, image processing, and biomedical signal processing, with a focus on neuroengineering.
